The 2026 Midyear Nurses Katipon brought together ActiveOne Health nurses from across the country in a two-part gathering centered on learning, connection, and a shared commitment to healthcare excellence. The first leg was held for the Luzon batch on July 25, 2026, at the Williams Center in Mandaluyong City, followed by the VisMin batch on August 28, 2026 held at Waterfront Hotel & Casino, Cebu City, extending the spirit of Katipon to nurses from the Visayas and Mindanao.

More than just a professional assembly, the event became a celebration of the people who stand at the forefront of patient care every day. United under the banner of “LEAD. SERVE. UNITE.”, nurses from diverse accounts and locations stepped away from their clinical routines to reconnect, learn, and rediscover the deeper purpose that binds them together as healthcare professionals.

The atmosphere was marked by meaningful conversations, collaborative learning, and a renewed sense of belonging. Throughout the day, participants were reminded that while they may serve in different clinics, they are all part of one mission: delivering exceptional healthcare with competence, compassion, and integrity.

Inspiring Conversations on Leadership and Service

Four people sit on sofas at an ActiveOne Health panel, speaking amid blue, white, and red balloons in a bright event space.

One of the highlights of the gathering was an engaging Fireside Chat that brought together respected leaders from ActiveOne Health and Unilab Health Services.

The panel featured Mr. Abelardo Yanuario, Vice President for Operations and General Manager of ActiveOne Health, Ms. Rose Clavines, Chief Human Resources Officer of Unilab Health Services, and Ms. Maria Elena Bagunas - Miranda, Head of Clinic Operations of ActiveOne Health.

More than a discussion, the session offered a powerful exchange of insights on leadership, service, and teamwork. Through personal experiences and practical wisdom, the speakers challenged participants to embrace leadership not as a title, but as a daily commitment to influence, accountability, and impact.

Their message resonated throughout the room: true leadership begins with service, and extraordinary results are achieved when individuals unite behind a common purpose.

Expanding Perspectives Beyond the Clinic

The Katipon also created opportunities for nurses to deepen their understanding of the broader healthcare ecosystem.

Ms. Gretchen Balbuena delivered a comprehensive discussion on Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), providing valuable insights into processes that support patient access, medication management, and overall healthcare delivery. The session highlighted how clinical practice is strengthened when healthcare professionals understand the systems working behind the scenes.

Participants also gained a unique industry perspective during the Sponsor Spotlight Session led by Ms. Ella Mendoza, Marketing Officer of the Patient Activation and Conversion Team of Unilab. Through this engaging segment, nurses explored the vital role of collaboration among healthcare stakeholders in improving patient outcomes and experiences.

Together, these discussions reinforced an important realization: healthcare excellence extends far beyond direct patient care. It requires an understanding of how every function, process, and partnership contributes to a seamless patient journey.

Stepping Into Action: Emergency Response in Real Time

The learning experience became even more dynamic through the program's hands-on emergency preparedness sessions.

Facilitated by Ms. Katrina Ordonez and Mr. Christian Rollan, the Medical Emergency Response Workshop immersed participants in realistic emergency scenarios that tested their clinical judgment, communication, and decision-making skills.

As nurses navigated different response situations, the room transformed into a living demonstration of teamwork under pressure. The session served as a powerful reminder that preparedness is not just a competency but a responsibility that can make a critical difference when every second counts.

Complementing this was an essential discussion on the Escalation Process, led by Ms. Aceleen Monteagudo and Ms. Jo Rina Go. Participants were guided through the importance of timely reporting, proper communication channels, and effective coordination during critical situations. The session underscored how clear escalation pathways help ensure that concerns are addressed efficiently, safeguarding both patient welfare and operational excellence.

More Than a Gathering, A Movement of Growth and Unity

While the program was filled with valuable learning sessions, perhaps its greatest impact came from something less tangible but equally important: connection.

Across conversations, group activities, and shared experiences, nurses had the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen professional relationships that extend beyond clinic walls. It was a powerful reminder that behind every successful healthcare organization is a community of professionals committed to supporting, inspiring, and elevating one another.

The 2026 Midyear Nurses Katipon reflected ActiveOne Health's belief that learning never stops. Every challenge presents an opportunity to grow, every experience offers a lesson, and every healthcare professional has the capacity to lead meaningful change.

As participants returned to their respective clinics, they carried more than new knowledge and enhanced skills. They brought back renewed inspiration, stronger connections, and a collective commitment to deliver healthcare that is safe, responsive, and grounded in genuine compassion.

The spirit of "LEAD. SERVE. UNITE." did not end when the program concluded. It lives on in every clinic, every patient interaction, and every healthcare professional who continues to embody these values each day.

At ActiveOne Health, we do not simply provide healthcare. We cultivate leaders, empower service, and unite people in a shared pursuit of excellence.
